An unforgettable musical adventure awaits!
FREE School Concert • February 24 & 25, 2027 • 9:30 a.m.
The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild, proudly presents the annual Young People’s Concerts for fourth-grade students throughout North Alabama. This longstanding tradition gives thousands of students the opportunity to experience a live symphony concert created especially for young audiences, completely free of charge.
This year’s program, The Story of Babar, combines the beauty of a live symphony orchestra with storytelling, puppetry, and theatrical imagination to create an unforgettable educational experience.
Based on the beloved children’s classic Babar the Elephant, the performance follows Babar’s remarkable journey from the jungle to the bustling city—and back again—through Francis Poulenc’s charming musical score. Students will also enjoy delightful music by Tchaikovsky and Elgar in a concert designed to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.
Presented in collaboration with Huntsville M.E.T., this interactive performance blends music, theater, and storytelling into an engaging experience your students will remember long after the final note.
